The 24 Hours of Le Mans at the Paris Motor Show

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest and the myACO team are at the Paris Motor Show until 16 October. The ACO stand is the best place to start a 24-hour themed tour of the show. You have ten days left to come to Paris and see what’s new in the automotive world.

Go straight to Pavilion 1, alley B, stand 339 to have your photo taken next to the Porsche 919 Hybrid with which Nico Hülkenberg, Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber won the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. Then take in the rest of show!

Porsche and Audi (forever) head to head - Porsche has won Le Mans 18 times and Audi 13 times. Once again, the two constructors’ stands are opposite each other. And of course both proudly display their 2016 hybrid prototype. PAVILION 4

Toyota out in front - Next-door to Porsche, Toyota exhibits the front of the prototype TS050 HYBRID. World number one for hybrid road cars, the Japanese constructor has its heart set on taking the top spot at Le Mans.  PAVILION 4

Morgan LM P2: the Art Car bows out - Just a few steps away from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest stand and the 2015 Le Mans winner, watchmaker BRM proudly presents the Morgan Art Car that commemorated the 90th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013. This the the last season for the prototype that won the LM P2 class at Le Mans that year. Open cockpits are not accepted under the LM P2 regulations that will come into force next season. PAVILION 1

The 24 Hours of Le Mans part of an exhibition on the silver screen - The Le Mans theme continues at the exhibition entitled “Moteur ! L’automobile fait son cinéma”.  The 1970 film Le Mans, produced by and featuring Steve McQueen created a lasting image of the iconic race. McQueen’s production company Solar entered a Porsche 908 Spyder in the 1970 race. The car was driven by Herbert Linge and Jonathan Williams and its bodywork included special “knocks and bumps” designed to hide the cameras used to film the on-track action. The exhibition includes other film-star cars such as the De Lorean from Back to the Future and the Cadillac Eldorado featured in Christine. PAVILION 8

(Virtually) drive a lap of Le Mans - Visitors to the Samsung stand can do a lap of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a BMW i8, under the patronage of four-time Le Mans-winner Yannick Dalmas, (1992, 1994, 1995 and 1999). PAVILION 1

When you’ve finished browsing, come back to the Automobile Club de l’Ouest stand and find out more about the new myACO community.
