WEC - Ford's victory in GT at Silverstone (video)

Despite its win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Pro class, Ford won only third place in the GT Manufacturer standings at the end of the 2016 World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) season, so its goal this year is clear: to win the GT World Champion title to be awarded for the first time ever.

Ford kicked off the year right at Silverstone since after starting from the pole, Andy Priaulx, Harry Tincknell and Luis Felipe "Pipo" Derani in the #67 Ford claimed the top step on the podium in the class despite a door that had a tendancy to keep opening. The winning driver line-up was helped out by the safety car's appearance, unlike its sister car, the #66. Stefan Mücke, Olivier Pla and Billy Johnson, once in the lead, ended up finishing fourth.
