After two consecutive appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Murphy Prototypes (LM P2), Brendon Hartley took a very important step in his career this year. Drafted by the Porsche factory team to drive a 919 Hybrid in the FIA World Endurance Championship. For the New Zealander it is a unique opportunity to demonstrate his pace. Alongside Mark Webber and Timo Bernhard, he will drive the No. 20 Porsche "There are a lot of emotions that are running through my head. It's really special to be present here at Le Mans in the official Porsche team. It is the fulfilment of all the work I've done since I wanted to be a racing driver at the age of six. Now I am part of this great team it is a great feeling."
The test day may have confirmed the performance of Toyota, but it is difficult to predict a result for this return of Porsche in the premier class "Quite honestly, we want to finish the race. This is our main goal. We have a great team behind us, high performing team members. We will fight no matter what because I'm expecting a really hotly contested and very difficult race. "
