2014 24 Hours of Le Mans – Gary Hirsch makes an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival

On Monday, May 19th, Gary Hirsch - driver of the Swiss team NewBlood by Morand Racing's Morgan-Judd - climbed the steps at the Palais des Festivals with the "Map of the Stars" film crew.

After having competed in the second round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Imola (Italy), Gary Hirsch arrived in Cannes for the presentation of David Cronenberg's new movie that is set in Hollywood and which is among the official selection in the running for the festival's Palme d’Or. For the 2014 season, one of Gary Hirsch's partners is none other than KnM, one of the production companies on "Map of the Stars". Appearing in the movie is namely Robert Pattinson, hero of the "Twilight" saga, as well as actress Julianne Moore.

At 71 years of age, Cronenberg - to whom we owe "The Fly", "Dead Ringers" and "A History Of Violence" among others - is also a big motorsports enthusiast: the backdrop for one of his first movies, "Fast Company", was drag racing. On June 14th and 15th, Gary Hirsch will compete in his first 24 Hours of Le Mans, along with the Austrian, Christian Klien and the Frenchman, Romain Brandela.
