Audi, the reigning champion, will take on rivals that are better armed and more numerous than ever before. Toyota, the Japanese giant, world no. 1 in the car industry, and world endurance champion; Porsche, still the record-holder of victories at Le Mans with sixteen made its return to top-level endurance racing in 2014, and Nissan, which is also making its Le Mans return in the top category, are all out to break the German manufacturer’s stranglehold in the blue riband category (LM P1).
And don’t forget the other categories in which battle will rage between Ferrari, Aston Martin, Alpine, Ligier, Morgan, Corvette Lotus, etc. There too the intensity of the struggle will match the prestige of the entries.
A unique party ambience also reigns at the Le Mans 24-Hours event, and it’s a huge success with the increasingly large number of spectators who flock to the circuit. Throughout the week the many forms of entertainment put on including the three evenings’ concerts, the Drivers’ Parade, etc, will delight both dyed-in-the-wool fans and ordinary spectators alike.
In 2015 the programme will be a particularly action-packed one because of numerous innovations that the ACO is preparing, which it will announce in the near future.
The Le Mans 24 Hours will take place on 13-14 June 2015 preceded by the test day on 31st May, which is a full dress rehearsal for the major challenge itself!
