2019 24 Hours of Le Mans - Qualifying 1 gets underway

This evening, the 62 competitors in the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans have two hours in which to demonstrate their potential and qualify for Saturday’s race. There are another two qualifying sessions tomorrow (Thursday).

The serious stuff begins here for the 62 cars competing in the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Qualifying 1 is now underway and the 186 drivers have two hours in which to qualify and give us our first view of Saturday’s starting grid.

Track conditions are currently dry and most of the competitors are out on the track now. The only car not taking part at this stage is the Dempsey-Proton Racing #99 Porsche RSR, which hit the barrier during free practice, and which may not be repaired before midnight.

Qualifying continues on Thursday 13 June, with two sessions, one from 19:00 to 21:00 and the other from 22:00 to midnight.

Keep up with qualifying with our live text commentary.

See the live time sheets (latest times for each class).
