2019 24 Hours of Le Mans – What’s happening on Tuesday 11 June?

After the scrutineering sessions in Le Mans city centre, the 186 drivers competing in the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans (15-16 June 2019) will today take part in a briefing session, followed by the official photograph and an autograph session. Ferrari and Aston Martin fans will no doubt head for Ruaudin for the fifth Les R’Hunaudières event.

Before the first official qualifying sessions begin tomorrow at 16:00, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has made sure there is plenty to keep racegoers occupied this Tuesday (11 June). The 186 drivers competing in the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans will start with a brief with race director Eduardo Freitas. They will then pose for the official photograph.

DRIVER AUTOGRAPH SESSION

From 17:00 to 18:30, the pit lane is opened to the public and fans are invited in to meet their favourite drivers and teams. After scrutineering, this is the second chance they have to get close to the drivers. Many go away with signatures on everything - photos, posters, caps, t-shirts... even on skin. Anything goes! A fun and friendly atmosphere guaranteed!

LES R'HUNAUDIÈRES

Ferrari and Aston Martin fans are in for a treat in the village of Ruaudin (4 kilometres from the Circuit) at the fifth annual Les R’Hunaudières event. This year the spotlight is on the 1950s, with the first wins for Ferrari in 1949 and Aston Martin in 1959. There will also be celebrations marking Shell’s 100th anniversary.

NEUVILLE DANS LA COURSE

In Neuville-sur-Sarthe, a village 20 or so kilometres from the Circuit, local businesses and the municipal council have come together to host a special screening of the official film of last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans on a giant screen. Starts at 19:00. There will also be a classic car display with the Lotus and Auto Passion 72 clubs and ACO members. One highlight will be a Ferrari Dino, marking the Italian carmaker’s 70th anniversary. Venue: next to the old watermill (plage du Vieux Moulin) in Neuville-sur-Sarthe.

WHAT’S ON TOMORROW

Tomorrow, the 62 cars entered in the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans will take to the track for the first free practice session (16:00-20:00) and qualifying (22:00-midnight). French pop-folk duo Diva Faune will take to Le Mans 24 Hours stage with a concert at 20:00. Road to Le Mans competitors will have their first free practice session between 20:30 and 21:30.
