2023 24 Hours of Le Mans – Tuesday 6 June programme

With Scrutineering and Test Day wrapped up, today the 186 drivers will attend a briefing, gather for the official group photo and meet with fans for an autograph session. Meanwhile, team mechanics are set to compete in the Pit Stop Challenge.

Pit lane visit and autograph session

From 13:00 to 18:00, pit lane will open its doors to the public. Fans can mingle among the teams and ask for autographs and selfies from the drivers between 14:00 and 15:00. Any reasonable object can be autographed. This event tops everyone's list as a favourite each year!

Pit stop Challenge

The 2nd Annual Pit Stop Challenge will see mechanics from all 62 teams attempt to execute the fastest tyre change in his/her class. It's an exercise requiring regular training and excellent physical condition as a wheel weighs more than 20 kg and a pneumatic gun 6 kg. The teams repeat the operation hundredes of times per season to increase stamina and muscle memory. During a race, every second lost during a pit stop could mean the difference between winning and losing.

The Pit Stop Challenge is scheduled from 15:00 to 16:30.

The R’Hunaudières

This year, the Sister City Committee and Town Hall of Ruaudin are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 100% French win by Matra (1973), as well as the end of the 50-year wait for Ferrari's return to the head class at the 24 Hours. Other activities include an exhibition of plaques showcasing Matra, Ferrari and exceptional GTs. Various collections from the 1970s, and more specifically 1973, will also play a part in the festivities. The sixth Marshals Trophy will be awarded during the evening.

From 16:00 to 23:00 at the Ruaudin town sporting complex. Free entry.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary exhibition

The grand 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary exhibition will be open to the public every day of Race Week. The installation highlights 86 outstanding cars: 65 winners and 21 cars that otherwise made history at the 24 Hours. Organised in collaboration with Peter Auto, the exhibition takes visitors through 100 years of history including the evolution of the circuit, records set and major events that marked the race.

Autograph session in the Le Mans city centre

The city of Le Mans itself is celebrating the 24 Hours Centenary as well, with plenty of exciting entertainment and activities on the menu, including an autograph session with several drivers at the Quinconces des Jacobins terrace from 18:00 to 19:30.
