10/24 - Friday, 10th December - Paul Drayson and Drayson Racing
The former British minister, now a team owner and driver in 2010, gave a new dimension to 'British Racing Green'.
This legendary colour last reached the top step of the podium of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003, with the victory of the Bentley EXP Speed 8 drivn by Tom Kristensen, Dindo Capello and Guy Smith. Today, Lord Paul Drayson offers a new variation in the world of endurance racing, in combination with the eco-green with his Lola coupe powered by a Judd engine running on biofuel.
In 2010, Drayson Racing visited three continents, five countries, and competed in twelve races and, including the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, American Le Mans Series and of course the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The highlight of this round the world trip was the seventh round of the ALMS at Road America, where Drayson Racing has had its first victory, the culmination of the quest and beliefs of its driver and owner in his crusade for a greener motor sport.
After being the best private team in LM P1 at the first season of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, Drayson Racing will probably be more than ever at the forefront in 2011, on both the competition side and ecology. For a new kind of "British Racing Green" ...
