9/24 - Thursday, 9th December - Porsche still leading.
Even though the manufacturers' title for the first season of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup eluded them in favor of Ferrari, Porsche has nevertheless had a superb 2010 campaign.
On both sides of the Atlantic, the indestructible 997 valiantly enriched a competition record that is already well supplied. In the Le Mans Series, Team Felbermayr Proton won a stunning grand slam of crowns with team, driver (Marc Lieb and Richard Lietz) and constructor titles in LM GT2. Porsche works drivers, Jorg Bergmeister and Patrick Long won the Drivers' title in the American Le Mans Series driving the Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche.
Team Felbermayr-Proton also took advantage of Ferrari-Corvette duel that ignited the category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010. Keeping their distance, Lieb and Lietz, (joined for the occasion by Wolf Henzler), carfully preserved their car during the race to win in GT2, and took eleventh place overall.
Porsche has worked hard for the future too; entered outside classification in the last two rounds of the ILMC (Petit Le Mans and 1000 km from Zhuhai), the 911 GT3 R Hybrid has achieved impressive performance in line with the ever increasing interest of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and builders of new green technologies. At Le Mans as in Stuttgart, the future is more than ever in motion...
