The aim of this free practice session is to enable entrants to come and test their cars on the Le Mans 24-Hours circuit, and also to give some teams, which will not be racing in the event itself, the opportunity to discover this unique track. Seventy-six cars maximum are allowed to take part in this dress rehearsal. In addition, the fact that it is scheduled two weeks before the race, and seven days before scrutineering, means that the teams can set up their installations inside the circuit and not have to take them down.
This Test Day isn’t obligatory except for the new cars, teams and drivers who have never raced in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Eligible cars are those belonging to the two prototype and GTE categories in the Le Mans 24 Hours (LM P1 and LM P2 – LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am) as well as the Formula Le Mans prototypes (LM PC), a top-level promotional formula in endurance, and innovative cars like the ones allowed to compete in the context of the 56th pit (limited to two).
2013 innovation: the Test Day tickets are now on sale on the site www.24h-lemans.com, ticket tab, and on the France Billet distribution network (Fnac, Carrefour, Système U) and TicketNet (Leclerc and Auchan) in the form of E-tickets (ticket printed directly from your computer). The price is 17 euros for a general enclosure ticket.
In addition, all test day ticket holders* will benefit from a 17-euro reduction if the person buys a general enclosure ticket for the Le Mans 24 Hours between 10-16 June.
To do this, simply log on to the sites www.24h.lemans.com or www.lemans.org and when buying enter a specific promotion code, the number of the bar code of the test day ticket.
