24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 - Just how fast is the Audi R18 e-tron quattro?

With its 13th victory in 15 appearances at Le Mans in 2014 and success in the first two rounds of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season, Audi will arrive at Le Mans as the team to beat.

When the new LM P1 rulebook came into force in 2014, there were a few concerns about lower top speeds, because the cars were required to mark a 30% cut in fuel consumption compared to the previous regulations. Those fears were soon allayed: take a look at this plan of the 24-Hour circuit and see the speeds the Audi reached at different sections of the track.

At the championship opener at Silverstone, the distance record was beaten and the pole position time was three seconds faster than last year. Will they need to be even faster than in 2014 to claim pole at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans? Find out at midnight on Thursday 11 June!
