24 Hours of Le Mans 2015 – The LM GTE guide (3): the Porsche 911

In 2015, the 911 will once again be Porsche's ambassador in the battle that will unfold between Ferrari, Porsche and Corvette.

The road version – A timeless silhouette since its presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963: with the 911, rarely has a model ever embodied a manufacturer to such an extent, which remains true to this day. Among its noteworthy evolutions: the turbocompressor (1974), four-wheel drive (1989) and water-cooling (since 1998).

The 2014 season – Porsche reached the third step on the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LM GTE Pro and Am classes, while Olaf Manthey's official LM GTE Pro team won two victories in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

En route for 2015 – For half a century, the Porsche 911 has been a cornerstone of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and endurance racing. There is no doubt it will figure in the lead pack this year, to reclaim supremacy in La Sarthe and to dethrone Ferrari in the World Championship.

The 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, 2015.
