Teammates for their debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014, Vincent Capillaire and Ren
Last year, along with Jan Charouz, the French driver and the German driver wore the colours of Sébastien Loeb Racing, while the team of the nine-time World Rally Champion also participated in its first 24 Hours of Le Mans. With as result a nice fourth place finish in the LM P2 class, and better than a top 10 overall (eighth).
Vincent Capillaire: "It was an extremely intense week in my life, getting to know an extraordinary circuit, non-permanent and with very high top speeds, very typical and atypical turns."
René Rast: "My first Le Mans week last year was even better than I expected. I knew the 24 Hours were a big race but I did not think it was that big."
Vincent Capillaire: "I also had the chance to race for Sébastien Loeb Racing, a newcomer to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We did excellent work and finished in a good fourth place in the LM P2 class."
René Rast: "I also realized how famous Sebastien Loeb is in France and his team received tremendous support from the fans. Vincent is a great expert from Le Mans and I got some good information and advice from him."
Vincent Capillaire: "René is very efficient on the track, with a great top speed. Personally, he is very nice and quite funny, we lauged a lot during the night at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. We had some great times together and I wish him a fantastic career, because he deserves it and I am sure he will be one of the major players in the 2015 24 Hours with Audi. This year, it is going to be hard to race as strong as he does since we will not be in the same class!"
In 2015, Rast went to LM P1 as a factory driver in the third R18 e-tron quattro entered by the German manufacturer at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, while Capillaire remained in LM P2 to take part in Alpine's challenge in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
