24 Hours of Le Mans – A look back at the Super Season in the LMP1 class (video)

The 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (15-16 June) is also the Super Final of the 2018-2019 FIA World Endurance Championship. After the race, the FIA Endurance LMP1 Teams Trophy will be awarded. For now, here's a video retrospective of the Super Season in this highly competitive class.

The Super Season was largely dominated by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's #7 and #8 Toyota TS050 HYBRIDs. The team currently has 177 points in the provisional classification in the FIA Endurance LMP1 Team Trophy. Rebellion Racing is in second place with 116 points, trailed by SMP Racing with 86 points. While Toyota has claimed the crown, the three teams will still battle it out to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The non-hybrid cars have proved throughout the season they are not to be underestimated. Improvements have been made, reducing the difference in performance between the hybrids and non-hybrids. Second and third places are still undecided in the championship.
