Every year Audi Sport showcases its innovation. After a very special warm-up in the streets of Le Mans to present its new Audi R18 in 2014, the entirety of the marque's 2015 motorsports program was presented on Thursday, March 19th at the new Motorsports Competence Center complex in Neuburg.
It was in this new facility that Audi Sport set up shop last year and that the new 2015 version of the Audi R18 e tron-quattro was officially unveiled. It should allow Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich's forces to retain the title at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and to win the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The Neuburg complex is situated 30 kilometers to the west of Ingolstat, site of the marque's headquarters. Seventy journalists of the international press representing 12 countries including China and Russia were invited to the very unique warm-up where the DTM, GT and Audi Sport TT programs were presented.
To achieve their endurance goals, Audi Head of LMP Chris Reinke significantly modified the R18 e-tron quattro with a new design all while working in several domains to ensure Audi hybrids remain undefeated at Le Mans.
Three Audi R18 e tron quattros are entered in the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.
