Many of the fans at Scrutineering in downtown Le Mans were mainly interested in the top class: LMP1, and Toyota was on everyone's mind. "I'm rooting for the best! Toyota has every chance of winning this year," thinks Wilfried from a nearby town. But he does like the Rebellion team because "they put up a fight!" For Nicolas, his son Aurélien and brother-in-law Stéphane, "Toyota doesn't really have any competition." Aurélien, age 10, would like "Toyota to win the race because they lost again last year." In GT, this family would prefer to see a Porsche victory.
With an umbrella for protection, ACO Club members Christian and Guillaume filmed every car that passed them by. They collect model cars and never miss race week at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both agree this edition is Toyota's to lose: "They've had a lot of bad luck. But this year they're going to win. They deserve it and it would shake things up!" The two friends are fairly certain about the other classes too! "In LMP2, Signatech Alpine. In GTE Pro, Ford. In GTE Am, Ferrari."
Nearby are Oliver (age 19) and his girlfriend Ambre (age 18), regulars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Oliver, originally from Britain but currently living with his family in Bordeaux, sees the race going an entirely different way. "In LMP1, Rebellion or SMP Racing because Toyota will have problems. In LMP2, G-Drive because they have so much experience and are fast in the WEC. In GTE Pro, Aston Martin because I love them. And in GTE Am, Aston Martin again!" On the other hand, Ambre has been swayed by a certain livery in GTE Pro: "I'd like the pink Porsche to do well, I think it's cute!"
