The Italian marque has given us a first glimpse of its Le Mans Hypercar, which will compete in the FIA WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023.

Add experience to impetus, and what do you get? Nico Müller is to join the Inter Europol Competition LMP2 team for the 94th 24 Hours of Le Mans on 10-14 June 2026. The recruitment is a new asset for the team, already a two-time class winner.

A 24 Hours of Le Mans team is always a complex web of relations, held together by an invisible thread. It is this alchemy that turns three drivers into one crew, with a single aim: the finish line. This year, Inter Europol Competition has added Nico M&uuml;ller to the mix. He will be sharing the #343 Oreca 07-Gibson with Bijoy Garg and Reshad De Gerus. The line-up has &ldquo;we&rsquo;re out to win LMP2&rdquo; written all over it!

<h2>The voice of experience</h2>

Every detail counts in a discipline as demanding as endurance racing. A reassuring voice on the team can change the whole tone of a race. Nico M&uuml;ller knows Le Mans. A Porsche factory driver in Formula E, he has driven the Peugeot Hypercar and has the precious experience of long nights, and the crucial split-second decisions that can turn the tables.

&ldquo;I&rsquo;m super excited to be joining Inter Europol Competition [...] The 24 Hours of Le Mans is always very high on every driver&rsquo;s list,&rdquo; he says. A simple statement that suggests the attraction of Le Mans &ndash; the pull that makes you want to come back every year. M&uuml;ller isn&rsquo;t coming along for the ride. He&rsquo;s coming to play a role, to do battle.

At his side, Bijoy Garg and Reshad De Gerus already form a solid pair in the European Le Mans Series. Their mutual understanding forms a sturdy foundation to build on. &quot;Teaming up with Bijoy, the winner of the 2024 edition, and Nico, who will be a major asset thanks to his experience as a works driver in Hypercar, makes us a strong line-up,&quot; says Reshad De Gerus. The words of a calmly confident crew-member who knows what to expect.

<h2>Two cars, double the chances</h2>

Fraternity is the watchword at Inter Europol Competition: the #343 has a sister, the #43, last year&rsquo;s class winner, again in the hands of Nick Yelloly, Tom Dillmann and Kuba Śmiechowski. There&rsquo;s no harm in continuity!

Team Principal Sascha Fassbender&rsquo;s message is crystal clear: &ldquo;Adding Nico for Le Mans gives us a very strong line-up and the possibility to have two competitive cars, both able to fight for the win.&rdquo; At Le Mans, being quick is not enough. You need to be sharp, patient and stick your neck out on occasions. Two cars on the grid doubles the chances of reading the race with a clear head.

When the race starts at 16:00 on 13 June, Inter Europol Competition will be out to win again.

The new M24 is home to one of motorsport’s richest collections.

All 100 cars on display are in working order and all have made their mark on automotive history. They form a glorious legacy. Alongside them, visitors can contemplate rare objects such as the firesuits worn by three-time Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna and six-time Le Mans winner Jacky Ickx. Also on display, the incredible Rudge-Whitworth cup, the trophy presented to the winners of the first 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923.

A group of talented volunteers is currently putting the finishing touches to a collection of 4,800 scale models &ndash; replicas of all the cars that have taken part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 1923.

Aptly located at the entrance to the circuit, the M24 celebrates living heritage. The wealth of its collections &ndash; dating from the late 19th century to the present day &ndash; and the sheer size of the project set it apart.

&ldquo;MCL&rdquo;: three letters that immediately strike a chord with Formula One fans. &ldquo;HY&rdquo;: two letters that instantly identify the car&rsquo;s era &ndash; Hypercar, the summit of endurance racing since 2021. Together, they emphasise McLaren&rsquo;s commitment to the FIA WEC.

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, nothing ever truly disappears. Each triumph leaves a mark; each car becomes a legend. Utter this new name and one cannot help but hear an echo of the iconic <a href="https://www.24h-lemans.com/en/news/the-mclaren-f1-gtr-at-le-mans-1-key-dates-1995-1998-45631" target="_blank">McLaren F1 GTR</a> that made a winning d&eacute;but in 1995. A legendary lightning strike. The MCL-HY cannot erase the past but can aim to follow in its tracks.

The name is a foundation stone. On 4 May, McLaren will unveil the car and its test livery. However, the essentials are already laid. Today, the Automobile Club de l&rsquo;Ouest (ACO) begins writing a new chapter in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, introducing new branding, designed with frog, part of Capgemini, a global creative consulting agency specializing in business model reinvention and experience strategies.

The message &ndash;&nbsp;Drive your destiny&nbsp;&ndash; takes the race into a new era where limits continue to be pushed, power sustained and humanity celebrated.

<h2>A roadmap set out by the ACO</h2>

The new branding is part of ACO&rsquo;s overall growth strategy to build on the race&rsquo;s international reputation while remaining true to its soul. With over 300,000 spectators, the 24 Hours of Le Mans gathers people from all over the world and its new branding matches its status as an iconic annual event that transcends the frontiers of motorsport.

The core of the new identity is &ldquo;La Trace&rdquo;, a resolutely contemporary, intensely sensorial visual language that encapsulates motion, emotion and the ritual associated with the event. La Trace&nbsp;is a conversation between heritage and innovation, symbolising an intention of forward movement and a lasting imprint. It represents the unique experience of each person who encounters the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and captures the tension, the pace and the depth of emotion that define the race.

With the new branding, the 24 Hours of Le Mans can express itself coherently and with renewed vigour across all its physical and digital touch points, before during and after the event.

These choices underline the singularity of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in worldwide sport and culture. The event no longer defines itself as the world&rsquo;s greatest endurance race, rather as a shared experience, constantly in step with change &ndash; a cultural phenomenon that connects generations and leaves a lasting mark.

The redesign comes as the ACO pursues the ambitious growth of the 24 Hours of Le Mans ecosystem, the modernisation of the circuit and its infrastructure, the addition of off-track events and catering for a wider, more diverse spectator base.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans reveals a new brand identity

10 June 1973, 4 p.m. The chequered flag waves at the last 24 Hours of Le Mans in which Ferrari were entered in the top class. 49 years after that date, Ferrari unveils the first details of its Le Mans Hypercar with which it will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2023.

The car, which will begin its first development tests in the coming weeks, shows strong design references to the stylistic features that distinguish the models in the Prancing Horse range.

With just over a year to go until the centenary edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2023, the countdown to the appointment with history, fifty years after that last participation, has officially begun. 
AF Corse will partner Ferrari for this Hypercar campaign. The team will compete under name “Ferrari—AF Corse”, aiming to add to the string of victories that began in FIA GT in 2006 with the F430 GT2.
