24 Hours of Le Mans - Reactions from the LMGTE Pro winners

Under constant pressure from the #51 Ferrari of Calado/Pier Guidi/Serra, both the car and the team of the #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR stood their ground.

Maxime Martin – 40 years ago your uncle and your father won the GTP class. How do you feel to be here? “Racing runs in the family and I have a few more years in me yet! It was lots of work. We had an ongoing battle with the Ferrari but we came out on top. We didn’t put a foot wrong, technically or at the wheel. It was a sprint from beginning to end so it’s a relief. This is not just any race, it’s the greatest race in the world and to win it is just incredible!"

Alex Lynn – How does it feel to take a class win at Le Mans? “Amazing! It’s hard to put into words. I had a great time with my teammate Maxime. It’s our third anniversary so maybe we should have a candlelit dinner! [laughing] And Harry is a good friend. I’ve never had so much fun as I’ve had here this week. We’ve had lots of laughs and we’ve worked hard too. There was a real chemistry between us. We were there for each other and the car was there for us too."

Harry Tincknell: "This is the best race, the biggest race, for so many reasons. It’s a shame not to see the fans but we gave them a spectacle. I’m delighted to have shared this win for Aston Martin with these two legends. We had every confidence in the car and it didn’t miss a beat. It hasn’t quite hit me yet. But we did it!”
