24 Hours of Le Mans – Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus finalises driver line-ups

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has announced its drivers for Season 9 of the FIA World Endurance Championship and 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans (12-13 June). The crews are set to take the wheel of the 007 LMH entered in Hypercar, the new top class in endurance racing.

After recently confirming its human resources and logistics partnership with Joest Racing, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has now revealed its drivers for the 2021 FIA WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans. The American constructor has recruited these highly experienced and talented drivers to take the wheel of the team's two 007 LMHs in the Hypercar class: Ryan Briscoe (age 38, five participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans), Pipo Derani (age 27, five participations), Romain Dumas (age 43, 20 participations including two overall wins), Franck Mailleux (age 35, three participations), Gustavo Menezes (age 26, five participations), Olivier Pla (age 39, 13 participations) and Richard Westbrook (age 45, 10 participations).

Luca Ciancetti, Team Manager of Podium Advanced Technologies: "We wanted fast and experienced drivers. We chose them for the value they offer our programme. We are very enthusiastic and know we will be performing at the highest level. These guys have shown great involvement in our programme and can't wait to drive our Glickenhaus 007 LMH."

Jim Glickenhaus, Founder of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus: "I’ve dreamed of racing Le Mans since I was 11 years old. We are proud of each driver who has joined our team. We are an international David verses Goliath, and our history shows we punch well above our weight class. We are racing to win and we are enjoying the journey."

Jesse Glickenhaus, Managing Director of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus: "We set an audacious goal to build a car and team to win our first overall victory at Le Mans and the WEC. We are proud that all these drivers will join our team. Each can race at our pace - in the rain, all day and all night. Also, each driver is both humble about the challenge of winning and they also can envision us winning. With these drivers, we have built a car and team to compete at the absolute top level of endurance racing."

The Glickenhaus 007 LMH will officially enter into competition at the 8 Hours of Portimão, the first of six rounds on the 2021 FIA WEC calendar, on 4 April.
