It’s a particularly important day for all drivers. Teams have eight hours in which to test set-ups and tyres before the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The two Toyota TS 050 Hybrids (#5 and #6) were first out.
Drivers who have never raced at Le Mans before (known as “rookies”), or not since 2011, must have completed a training course on a simulator and are also required to complete ten laps during the Test Day.
The sessions take place on the full 13.629km circuit used for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The public roads were closed to traffic very early this morning and will be re-opened at around 19:30.
There will be two sessions: 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00.
The Test Day is open to the public. Spectators who already have General Enclosure tickets for the 24 Hours of Le Mans may use them for the Test Day. A ticket for the Test Day only is €20. Entry is free to children born after 1 June 2000 accompanied by an adult ticket-holder.
