24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day – Round-up of the second hour

Young French star Thomas Laurent upset the standings early in the second hour with an amazing lap in the #3 Rebellion, squeezing in between the two Toyotas.

Rebellion was soon to show promise when Thomas Laurent slipped his #3 Rebellion R13-Gibson between the two Toyota TS050 Hybrids, just 1.461 seconds adrift of the #8 car. At 10:30, Fernando Alonso took his place in the #8 for his first laps of the iconic Le Mans circuit. And the fastest time of the first two hours was soon eclipsed as the Spanish ace went around in 3:21.468! The #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson still lies in fourth place.

All change at the top of the LMP2 timesheets too. The #26 Oreca 07-Gibson of G-Drive Racing recorded a time of 3:30.176, knocking another Oreca, the #48 fielded by IDEC Sport, off top spot. In LMGTE Pro, the Ford GTs appear to be dominating proceedings for the moment with three cars in the top three spots, led by the #67 of Ford Ganassi Team UK, driven by Andy Priaulx. A Porsche is still leading the way in LMGTE Am but, this time, it’s the #61 fielded by Clearwater Racing.
