24 Hours of Le Mans - The fervour of the Drivers Parade in Le Mans city centre
Each year on the Friday afternoon before the race, the drivers parade through town in open-top cars, much to the delight of their fans. Yesterday, thousands gathered along the route to acclaim the 186 drivers in the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will start at 15:00 today.
Regulars turn up with step ladders to get a good view, others wear wigs to stand out from the crowd and grab the best of the goodies. Drivers also hand out signed photos and stop for photographs. A last few hours of relaxation before the serious stuff begins!
