Like many tourists who visit the City of Light, on Wednesday, June 8th around 9:00 a.m., the Ford GT will find its way to the foot of the Arc de Triomphe and will head down the Champs-Elysées to the Place de la Concorde and then make its way to the Louvre. Its path will echo a virtual lap of the 24 Hours circuit which the four cars entered by the American manufacturer will take at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th for the race.
Like back in the 1960s, Ford will go up against Ferrari, but will also face Aston Martin, Porsche and its fellow American marque Chevrolet and its Corvettes. Ford will have strength in numbers with four cars, sporting the numbers (66 to 69) of the years of its four consecutive overall victories (1966 through 1969) at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This time, only a class win is conceivable for Ford, who won in its class at Laguna Seca in California in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the two cars entered in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) to be joined by the two GTs entered in the American championship.
