Classic British Welcome
The 19th annual Classic British Welcome in Saint-Saturnin (09:00–17:00) is a highlight of 24 Hours of Le Mans Race Week and this year will be paying tribute to distinctive British marque, Morgan. This year’s special guest is Jacques Nicolet, owner of Onroak Automotive.
Le Virage de Mulsanne
This emblematic spot on the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit will be buzzing from 09:00 to 16:00 today. This year, the organisers of the 9th Virage de Mulsanne event welcome special guest Austin Marting Racing driver Maxime Martin. Aston Martin and Bentley are in the spotlight this time around, and Julien Canal of Panis Barthez Compétition will also be present. Former drivers Lionel Robert, Jacky Haran and the Ravenel brothers Jean-Louis, Jacky and Marc will be sharing their experience of the classic endurance race. An exhibition of 800 classic cars completes the picture. Head for 2 avenue François Mitterrand in the village of Mulsanne.
Fan Zone
Take some time out and soak up the atmosphere in the fully interactive fan zone. Open from 10:00 to 22:00. Get an analysis of the race action, and enjoy the free hi-tech entertainment and activities. Food and drinks on sale. Special kids area: guaranteed fun for all!
THE PITS AND THE TRACK
The pit lane is open to the public from 10:00 to 20:00. Anyone with a General Enclosure ticket can come along and admire the 62 cars, see their favourite drivers and jostle for photographs in front of the garages. For most spectators, a selfie with a driver is an absolute must!
FUNFAIR
The traditional funfair near the Ford chicanes awaits thrill-seekers from 10:00 till midnight. At the foot of the huge Ferris wheel, you’ll find all the traditional fairground rides and attractions, such as rifle shooting, hoopla stalls and bumper cars. All the fun of the fair, just a stone’s throw from the track and racing action!
DRIVERS’ PARADE
Head to the centre of Le Mans later this afternoon (17:00-18:30) for the Drivers’ Parade (Parade des pilotes), which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Every year on the eve of the big day, historic vehicles transport all the drivers entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans slowly through the city centre. Organised by Classic Automotive in partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the Drivers’ Parade brings a carnival-like atmosphere to the streets of Le Mans before the serious stuff begins the following day.
