The Danish driver's track record at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of remarkable consistency: in 15 participations, he has taken the checkered flag 11 times. Jan Magnussen discovered Le Mans in the prototype class behind the wheel of the famous front-engined Panoz, a very popular entry among fans. He would finish 15th on his debut in 1999, before reaching a top five result in 2003 as he shared an Audi R8 with Seiji Ara et Marco Werner.
Then Jan Magnussen became an official Corvette driver, and consequently turned to the GT class. From 2004 to 2006, he had three class wins in a row, finishing sixth, fifth and fourth overall respectively, and another fourth in 2009. After two retirements in 2011 and 2012, he finished the 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in fourth position in the LM GTE Pro class, driving the highest finishing Corvette. At only 40 years of age, Jan Magnussen is preparing to drive the seventh generation of the Corvette in 2014, and of course aiming to take the victory again in La Sarthe in LM GTE Pro next June. It will also be the 10th anniversary of a fruitful career with Corvette Racing.
