Intercontinental Le Mans Cup – Petit Le Mans
Petit Le Mans lives up to its name. The winners of what is this year the second round of the Intercontinental Le MansCup, includes no fewer than eleven former winners of the 24 hours (listed below).
Among them, four have won the 24 Hours and Petit Le Mans in the same year: Frank Biela (2001), Emanuele Pirro (2001), Tom Kristensen (2002, pictured above) and Allan McNish (2008) who started from pole position in the history of the Intercontinental Cup at Le Mans at the Autosport 1000km of Silverstone. Audi were undefeated at Petit Le Mans 2000-2008. For now, the 'winningest' driver in Petit Le Mans is Dindo Capello, with five successes.
Tom Kristensen (Dan) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-2005-2008, and of Petit Le Mans in 2002.
Frank Biela (Ger) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2007, and of Petit Le Mans in 2001 and 2005.
Emmanuele Pirro (Ita)- Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000-2001-2002-2006-2007, and of Petit Le Mans in 2001, 2005 and 2008.
Dindo Capello (Ita) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003, 2004 and 2008, and of Petit Le Mans in 2000, 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Marco Werner (Ger) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and of Petit Le Mans in 2004.
JJ Lehto (Fin) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995 and 2005, and of Petit Le Mans in 2003 and 2004.
Allan McNish (GB) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998 and 2008, and of Petit Le Mans in 2000, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Andy Wallace (GB) - Winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988, and of Petit Le Mans in 1999.
