After a detour to the circuit in Monza, Italy last year, the Prologue is back home at Le Castellet in the Var region of France for two days of official testing during which 13 competitors will take part in a 30-hour endurance race simulation from Friday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, April 7th at 4:00 p.m. local time. No LMP2 class prototype has expressed interest in the night session grouping five LMP1s (Rebellion Racing, ByKOLLES Racing Team, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing and SMP Racing's two BR Engineering BR1s), four LMGTE Pros (BMW Team MTEK, Aston Martin Racing and two Porsche 911s) and four LMGTE Ams (the Ferrari 488 GTEs of Spirit of Race, Clearwater Racing and MR Racing, and Team Project 1's Porsche).

The Prologue gives teams the opportunity to test out new drivers or bring back previous drivers, as Toyota is doing with two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Alexander Wurz to compensate for the absence of three of its six drivers (Fernando Alonso retained in F1, and Kazuki Nakajima and Kamui Kobayashi competing in Super GT in Japan.

Only one car of the 36 entered in the 2018-2019 Super Season will miss out on the Prologue: the #3 Rebellion 13-Gibson of Swiss team Rebellion Racing, settling for just one R13, to be shared by as many as five drivers, including past 24 Hours of Le Mans winners André Lotterer (Audi) and Neel Jani (Porsche).

A number of spots are still available in the LMP1 class, and LMP2 is filling up little by little, including the latest confirmation: the arrival of Gabriel Aubry in one of Jackie DC Chan Racing's ORECA 07, the team the young driver joined in the Asian Le Mans Series last season. On the other hand, the LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am are nearly complete.

The first day of the Prologue is closed to the public, but the action on Saturday, April 7th is open to everyone free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.
