The auction hosted by RM Auctions saw the Jaguar XJR-9 that won at the 1990 24 Hours of Daytona (see article) go for $2,145,000, a little less than the minimum estimate of three million. The same for the canvas depicting Lorenzo Bandini and Ludovico Scarfiotti celebrating their win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1963 with Ferrari, which was purchased for $17,250 though valued between $20,000 and $26,000.

The Gooding firm offered the 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR that participated several times in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with as a best result a fifth place finish in 1983, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, finishing at the foot of the podium in 1982. That car was sold for $1,237,500 dollars.

After Scottsdale and Amelia Island, the next major historic event in the U.S. is scheduled for August 15th and 16th at Pebble Beach in California.
