A year in the life of André Lotterer

Andr

Since winning Le Mans in 2011, Lotterer and teammates Marcel Fässler and Benoît Tréluyer have become the team to beat in endurance racing. They won the 24 Hours again in 2012 and 2014 and can boast eight more victories in World Endurance Championship races. Lotterer, who celebrates his 34th birthday toda,y is of German and Peruvian descent and grew up in Belgium. As a driver, he shares his time between endurance racing and the Japanese Super Formula, in which he has been a regular over the last ten years and won in 2011.

This year, at Le Mans, he ran the fastest lap ever recorded during the 24 Hours, at 3:17.476 with an average speed of 248 kph. In 2016, Lotterer and his friends – these three are not just teammates – will be looking to become the first team to win the 24 Hours four times. Judging by past performance, that is a distinct possibility, as is a second World Champion title this weekend. Victory hinges on the 6 Hours of Bahrain.
