Alex Brundle moves into the LMP1 class with Manor for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Chinese team Manor, now called CEFC TRSM Racing, is moving up to the LMP1 class for the 2018-2019 Super Season of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). One of two designated head drivers, Oliver Rowland will be joined by Alex Brundle at the wheel of the #6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1.

Third overall and second in LMP2 in 2017, Alex Brundle will experience the top class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time this year, as will his new team, CEFC TRSM Racing. For the driver's first four participations - the son of the 1990 winner with Jaguar, Martin Brundle - competed in the LMP2 class, reaching the second step on the class podium twice, in 2013 and 2017.

For the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alex Brundle, who finished fifth at the 12 Hours of Sebring last month at the wheel of United Autosports' Ligier, will join forces with Oliver Rowland, a junior driver with Williams in Formula 1 making his endurance racing debut this year.

After today's announcement, three spots remain for the team's two Ginetta G60-LT-P1s, Charlie Roberston having been selected as head driver in the #5 for the 2018-2019 World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) Super Season, kicking off with the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on May 5th, a little more than a month before the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 16th and 17th, the second race on the calendar.
