Algarve 1000kms: sea, race and sun

Follow the 1000 Km of Algarve this weekend

The third round of the 2010 Le Mans Series is looking like vacation under the Portuguese sun. Yeseterday the cars’ inspection was under process by the ACO, while the drivers are relaxing on the beach… But there are a few exceptions!

Olivier Pla walks around in the pit with his mechanics, with some pressure this weekend since the Quifel-ASM Team is racing on home turf: “After our class win at the Spa 1000kms and a great disappointment at Le Mans, we intend to finish on the podium to climb up to the second position in the provisional standings.”

For some others the race has already begun. Guillaume Moreau’s flight scheduled on July 14 at 2 PM could not take off because of thunderstorms and heavy rain over France. The driver from Limoges decided to take a 2000-kilometre road trip to Algarve. Recent news stated that he reached Portimao at 6.30 AM yesterday morning, and spent the rest of the day relaxing in a swimming pool.
