Alonso and Montoya given the green light for the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

Ahead of participating in Test Day for the 2018 24 Hours this coming Sunday 3 June, Le Mans rookies Juan Pablo Montoya and Fernando Alonso successfully completed the "simulator training session," effectively earning their respective endurance driver's licenses.

Colombian driver Juan-Pablo Montoya (winner of the Indianapolis 500 twice and seven F1 Grand Prix) and Spanish driver Fernando Alonso (two-time F1 world champion) receive the coveted document (photos).

But as rookies they still have certain requirements to fulfill before taking the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 16 June, namely completing a minimum of 10 laps during Sunday's Test Day, five of which must be timed.
