Alpine's 60th anniversary celebrated in grand style in Normandy in September

The Renault Alpine's win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans dates back to 1978, and this year the Alpine marque hits 60. To celebrate this anniversary, the French constructor unveiled a show-car specially prepared for the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Association des Anciens d'Alpine will gather together the Alpine family at Dieppe (Normandy) September 11-13, 2015.

Last May 7th, Carlos Ghosn - the CEO of Renault-Nissan, which owns Alpine - announced that the Alpine marque created by Jean Rédélé will be returning to the road instead of only appearing in competion. The replacement for the iconic Berlinette should be coming off assembly lines as of 2017, but in the meantime, Alpine celebrated its 60th anniversary by unveiling the Célébration as an opening act for the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13th this year and then putting it on display in the Village.

A celebration will also be on the menu September 11th through the 13th with no less than 600 Alpines expected from across Europe by the association. On the program: a parade, tourist rallies, exhibitions, presentation podiums, dinners...all of which will be attended by many well-known Alpine drivers and Philippe Sinault, head of the Signatech Alpine outfit.

The French team that entered an Alpine A450b-Nissan in the LM P2 class in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) was forced to retire following an incident at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, and will try to play catch-up at the 6 Hours of Nürburgring on August 30th.
