André Lotterer: Le Mans, endurance and Super Formula

After having competed in Japan at the fourth Super Formula round on August 23rd, Andr

Three-time winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2011-2012-2014), World Champion (2012), leader in the 2015 driver standings with his buddies Marcel Fässler and Benoît Tréluyer, André Lotterer is one of the stars in endurance racing today. He is also very popular in Japan where he has won both main national motorsports competitions: Super GT (in 2006 and 2009) and Super Formula (in 2011). In the latter, he won the inaugural 2015 race in April (by slipping between the two cars qualified on the first row at the start) and finished fourth at Motegi on August 23rd.

André Lotterer: "It's pretty easy for me to move between endurance and Super Formula. I have raced in Super Formula for more than 10 years and have always been a part of the Tom's team. But what's funny is that I'm teammates with Kazuki Nakajima there but we are adversaries in the World Endurance Championship since he's a Toyota driver. But we work really well together to improve the car. Whether it's Tom's in Japan or Audi in endurance, the goal is the same at the end of the day."

Lotterer and Nakajima have already been entered in the record books of the 24 Hours of Le Mans: Lotterer established a new lap record at the 2015 edition (3:17:475 at an average of 248.5 km/h) in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, and in 2014 Nakajima became the first Japanese driver to clinch pole position at Le Mans, at the wheel of the Toyota TS040 Hybrid.
