At the Artcurial Motorcars aution, which took place on July 7 as part of the sixth Le Mans Classic, a total of 8,666,741€ was bid. The sale included prototypes of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and rare Ferraris.
Lots for this auction included eight cars that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The WM P88 speed record holder in the Mulsanne Straight (405 km/h in 1988) went for €119,136, the Peugeot 905 that finished in 3rd place in the 1992 24 Hours 654 723 and the ASA Type RB 613 that raced in 1967 €297,840. The Ligier JS2 (second in 1975), the Argo JM 19C (1988-1989), the Audi R10 TDI (2009-2010), the Saleen S7R and the Corvette that was raced in 2010 and 2011 by Larbre Competition (with two class wins) were all unsold.
Twenty-four hours after the visit of 23 examples of the 250 GTO, which celebrates its half-century this year, Ferrari again held the upper hand in the auction room. The eleven models at the Artcurial sale accumulated €2,770,839 more than a third of the overall figure. With a superb 275 GTC Inter of 1966 alone fetched €1,540,164.
