Asian Le Mans Series - Eurasia Motorsport (Ligier) takes the pole at Sepang

At the final round of the 2017/2018 Asian Le Mans Series season at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, Nabil Jeffri - at the wheel of Eurasia Motorsport's #33 Ligier JS P2-Nissan - qualified ahead of another Ligier, the one fielded by the BBT team, and Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport's two ORECA 05-Nissans.

Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport has scored two pole positions this season, at Zhuhai in China and at Buriram in Thailand, whereas the BBT team has one to its credit, at Fuji in Japan. For this fourth and final round of the Asian Le Mans Series season, it was Eurasia Motorsport's turn to clock the fastest time during the qualifying session at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Though the team passed on participating in the Buriram round, it made the decision to compete at the finale after modifying its driver line-up. It worked out very well given that Nabil Jeffri secured pole position in his #33 Ligier JS P2-Nissan. With a time of 1’55’’224, the driver of Mark Goddard's team qualified 0.457 seconds faster than BBT's #37 Ligier JS P2-Nissan driven by Pipo Derani. Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport's two ORECA 05-Nissans finished third (#8, Stéphane Richelmi) and fourth (#7, Jazeman Jaafar).

The KCMG team marked one precious point in the championship by scoring the pole in the LMP3 class. Josh Burdon, driver of the #18 Ligier JS P3, qualified ahead of Nigel Moore (#65, Viper Niza Racing) and the Frenchman Gabriel Aubry (#6, Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport). In GT, the best time went to Jesse Krohn at the wheel of FIST Team AAI's #91 BMW M6 GT3, faster by two-tenths of a second than Tianshi Racing Team's Audi R8 LMS and FIST Team AAI's #90 Ferrari 488 GT3.
