At the Le Mans Classic, René Arnoux is enjoying seeing these cars on the track again

Former F1 driver René Arnoux took the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1977, 1994 and 1995. This weekend at the Le Mans Classic, he is having fun watching these cars at the great circuit once again.

René Arnoux celebrated his 70th birthday on July 4th and has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. He still loves motorsport and plenty of action. "I've always said I'm not a big fan of museums, I don't like seeing vintage cars just sitting there. I love to see them in the thick of it like in their glory days. That's why I really enjoy races like the Le Mans Classic. I know the effort it takes to maintain these machines to the point of entering them in such events." This weekend at the Le Mans Classic, René Arnoux - who competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of an Alpine in 1977, a Viper in 1994 and a Ferrari 333 SP in 1995 - will drive a 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 (grid 4) and a 1979 BMW M1 Procar (grid 6).
