An Audi factory driver and specialist of the R8 LMS, the Portuguese driver will join Britons Simon Dolan and Harry Tincknell at the wheel of Jota Sport’s Zytek-Nissan for the full 2014 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season. His 2014 schedule also includes two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC): in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps WEC (May 3) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 14-15), he will share the wheel of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro with Oliver Jarvis and Marco Bonanomi. “I am thankful to Audi Sport that this cooperation is possible and that I’ve been released for the runs with Jota,” says Albuquerque. “This makes for a win-win situation. Jota is one of the best teams in the ELMS, we’re sharing the will to win and the experience will help me to prepare myself for the Spa 6 Hours and the Le Mans 24 Hours.”
