Frenchman Benoit Tréluyer suffered a fall while out on his mountain bike, resulting in a spinal injury. According to the information provided by Audi, the injury will heal without surgery and should not have any lasting effects. However, Tréluyer will take several weeks to recover so will be unable to compete at the 6 Hours of Nürburgring on 24 July. His teammates Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer will therefore share driving duties in the #7 Audi R18 and Tréluyer will not be replaced by another driver. “On behalf of Audi Sport, I wish Benoit a speedy and full recovery so that he’ll be ready to race again in the subsequent event in Mexico,” said Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich.
