Ryan Dalziel, who won in the LM P2 class at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, will have a very loaded calendar in 2016 as he pursues his global campaign with Extreme Speed Motorsports and will join VisitFlorida.com Racing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
In September, the American team ESM confirmed it will once again compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in LM P2 in 2016, and today the VisitFlorida.com Racing outfit made official the arrival of Ryan Dalziel and Marc Goossens, a mainstay with Cadillac in the early 2000s and more recently with the official Viper endurance program. The Belgian driver has participated 12 times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a fourth place finish overall in 1997 as best result.
It's not the first time the two drivers will have competed together since they shared the only Jaguar XKR entered in the former LM GT2 class, at the 2010 edition of the 24 Hours (retired).
Though Goossens did not take the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, Dalziel competed at the race with ESM, which took possession of its new JS P2s a few days before the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, dress rehearsal for Le Mans. His participation in 2015 exempts the Scot from mandatory participation in Test Day at the 84th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Detroit race taking place the same weekend. On the other hand, he will undoubtedly have to make a choice between Long Beach and Silverstone, Long Beach being the Californian round of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship which will take place the day before (April 16th) the British race as opener for the WEC.
