Big "Rush" for Oreca

The film Rush, which tells the story of the duel between Nicki Lauda and James Hunt in Formula 1 in the 70s, will be released in theatres on the 14th of September in the UK. Oreca has decided to celebrate its 40th anniversary by linking to the film and offers a contest whose top prize is a driving course.

Originally just a race team, Oreca has come a long way to become a group present in many areas of motor sport, from the design of racing cars to the sale of spare parts and accessories. The team has not disappeared from the scene as they are supporting the Toyota TS030 Hybrid entered in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), that finished in second and fourth places in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Manufacturer was also well represented in the LM P2 class with seven competitors on the start line at Le Mans in June.

This year, the team based near the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France, celebrates its 40th birthday in their involvement with director/producer Ron Howard's film "Rush". Howard's other films include Apollo 13 and the Da Vinci Code.

Howard has chosen show the parallel lives of two opposing champions. The confrontation between the flamboyant James Hunt and the cool and calculating Niki Lauda reached its peak during the 1976 season of Formula 1. "The duel between James Hunt and Niki Lauda has defined a generation, and I'm looking forward to seeing the film Rush” said Hugues de Chaunac, founder and President of Groupe ORECA. “At the time, our race team clinched its first single-seater titled and live though this fight. I had the opportunity to meet Niki Lauda in the F1 paddock and his story had me, like many, particularly affected. High quality motor sport films are rare, RUSH allows us to relive the great moments of motor sport and share together a common passion I'm glad ORECA are linked with it. It is a nice tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Group."

The film's premiere was held in London on the 2nd of September, the general release is scheduled for the 14th of September in the UK and 25th September in France and two days later the United States. In the meantime, fans can get a taste of the film's official website, but also a chance to win tickets and posters of the film, even for the lucky ones, a driving course. Find this on Facebook in the Oreca store up to the 19th of September.
