Brabham Automotive has its eye on the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship

With its Brabham BT62, the Anglo-Australian marque founded by David Brabham in 2018 has its sights set on the GTE class in the 2021-22 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Australian driver David Brabham can boast three Le Mans wins. In 2007 and 2008, he triumphed with Aston Martin in LM GT1 then claimed overall victory with Peugeot Sport Total in 2009. In 2018, he set up Brabham Automotive and designed the Brabham BT62, a car that is an ideal fit for the LM GTE Pro class in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The car was on show in the 24 Hours of Le Mans paddock last June and its development programme is well underway.

Brabham Automotive is now aiming to compete in the LMGTE Pro class in the FIA WEC championship in the 2021-22 season.

Coincidentally, the only French Formula One Grand Prix to be contested at Le Mans (on the Bugatti Circuit) saw Sir Jack Brabham (three-time F1 World Champion in 1959, 1960 and 1966) take the honours at the wheel of a car bearing his name. Brabham racing cars competed in the F1 world championship for over 30 years, taking four driver world titles and two manufacturer titles.
