The countdown to the 80th 24 Hours of Le Mans race has started with the traditional placing of the cars in the 'ear of corn' formation alongside the pit wall.

The 56 cars are placed diagonally facing towards the start and, when the national anthem is played, nine mechanics and the three drivers will line up alongside their cars.  Then they will take to the track before returning to reclaim their place on the starting grid.

To remind you, the cars will be unleashed at 1500 hours precisely to start 24 hours of excitement and racing.
