On July 9, the memorabilia auctioned by Artcurial at the Le Mans Classic will include original posters and a McLaren F1 GTR. Launched in 1992, the supercar designed by Gordon Murray met an unexpected success on the road and on the race tracks. No fewer than seven examples entered the 1995 running of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Jean-Marc Maury-Laribière found an original design by the French sculptor César for his two cars, a Venturi and a McLaren. The artist relied on the lines “designed by the wind” (in his own words) to imagine a unique livery.

Fifteen years later, one of its drivers Hervé Poulain, the famous French auctioneer specialised in classic and racing cars, will once again try to take the max out of the McLaren… But with his hammer this time!
