The big news was announced on the eve of this year
Ford has admitted that the shakedown had taken place ahead of the official unveiling in Le Mans and that the development programme had already begun. Previously, however, all tests had been performed by the manufacturer along with their partner Multimatic. But yesterday morning, the Chip Ganassi Racing team who will be running the car put in their own test session at Daytona International Speedway.
The venue holds fond memories for Chip Ganassi’s outfit – who have just received their first chassis – as they won the 2015 edition of the endurance classic with a Daytona Prototype powered by a Ford engine. Having discovered the track, and its famous banking, this morning, the Ford GT will surely be ready to roll in January!
