Audi could do nothing to counter the supremacy of the Peugeot 908 on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit. Under the chequered flag, the gap between the two constructors amounts to more than one lap, a gap compared to 13 seconds separating the first two after 24 hours of racing at Le Mans!
Between the two Peugeot 908, the duo of Bourdais / Davidson has proved unbeatable. The French sprinters, Montagny / Sarrazin, finished 68 seconds behind their teammates. Third, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish can console themselves for their disappointment of Le Mans where the Scot destroyed his Audi R18 for the first hour of racing.
Behind them, Rebellion had a faultless race, after sixth place Le Mans, the Lola-Toyotas ranked fifth and sixth. Pescarolo Team finished seventh after losing a lot of time because of a brake problem.
Third win of the year for the team Greaves Motorsport in LM P2! As at Le Mans, the trio Ojjeh / Lombard / Kimber-Smith had no problems which put them ahead of the Oreca of team Signatech.
Although the anticipated duel between Audi and Peugeot did not really take place, the one between the Ferrari and BMW has kept all its promises! At the finish the Italians delighted the "Tifosi" with a double! The duos of Vilander / Melo ahead of Fisichella / Bruni. The duo Müller / Farfus BMW M3 completed the podium in GTE PRO.
The Porsche 911 RSR Narac / Armindo won GTE AM and crew Mercelis/ Marroc / Ducate took FLM victory.
