Thirty-six cars will take the start this weekend in the last round of the 2020 European Le Mans Series season. Today final qualifying ended with the United Autosports team's #32 in pole position tomorrow at the 4 Hours of Portimão.
Qualifying at the 4 Hours of Portimão unfolded today with a pleasant 28°C air temp at the track. The free practice was interrupted by a problem with the installation of evacuation plaques, the newly paved track helped times and the final minutes of the LMP2 session were particularly exciting. The #32 fielded by United Autosports scored its first pole position of the season in 1:28.627.
In LMP3, the pole went to United Autosports' #2 with a time of 1:36.277.
In the LMGTE class, the top spot was taken by Iron Lynx's #60 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. Ferrari pulled off a hat trick with second position for AF Corse's #88 then the all-female trio of Frey-Gatting-Gostner in the #83.
The start of the race will be given tomorrow at 11:00 (CET). Watch it live on the official European Le Mans Series website.
The results will clinch the various classifications in championships and finalise the invitations to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the European Le Mans Series.
