ELMS – IDEC SPORT to field two cars in 2019

This year, IDEC SPORT will compete in the European Le Mans Series with two cars in the LMP2 class. The French team is also looking to take the start at the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 15-16 June 2019.

Like in 2018, IDEC Sport will once again field two cars in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) this season. The French team's ORECA 07-Gibson will serve as its main weapon with at the wheel Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatin and Memo Rojas, the driver line-up that finished the 2018 ELMS season in third place overall. The second car, a Ligier JS P217-Gibson, will be shared by gentlemen-drivers Patrice Lafargue, Erik Maris and Stéphane Adler.

IDEC SPORT has submitted a request for both cars to participate in the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (15-16 June 2019). Last year, the #48 ORECA 07-Gibson clinched the pole in the LMP2 class before being forced to retire with gearbox troubles three hours from the checkered flag.

The entry list for this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled to be released in two stages. On 11 February 2019, a first list of 50 names will be published, then on 1 March, a second list with the final 10 invitations as well as the 10 reserve cars will be unveiled. On this second date, the entirety of 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans field will be fully known (subject to withdrawal).
