The GT field is identical to the one in Italy with eight competitors in the LM GTE class, currently led by AT Racing's Austrian Ferrari - racing at home - and five competitors in the GTC class, with TDS Racing at the top of the standings.
So the changes are actually in the LM P2 and LM P3 classes with the arrival in the first of a second Ligier JS P2, sporting the No. 25, for Algarve Pro Racing with Michael Munemann, James Winslow and Andrea Roda at the controls. Absent in the paddock since the beginning of the season, the Portuguese team has been focusing on private test sessions.
It will join Krohn Racing's No. 40 Ligier welcoming Julien Canal, a regular G-Drive Racing team member in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), third in the LM P2 class at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ligier.
In LM P3, four cars are entered in Austria: of the four British Ginettas present at Imola, only Team LNT's cars will be at Spielberg, the leader in the championship, University of Bolton, will not be able to defend its provisional title.
The third ELMS race, of four hours, will take place June 11th and 12th at the Red Bull Ring (ring meaning circuit in German), formerly Österreichring and A1-Ring, not to be confused with the Zeltweg circuit, previously used by F1 and now out of commission.
